Mmm, good tea

I’ve always loved Southern-style sweet tea, although I prefer mine still hot after the brew. Tetley, pretty strong, light sugar — I could drink a gallon a day.

Then my sister Susan gave me a tea leaf brewer similar to this, then BFF Rebecca gave me a tea tumbler for Christmas, and then my co-worker Sonny introduced me to authentic Pu-erh tea, so I was forced to step up my game.

So far, I’ve found I really enjoy the 2007 Menghai Yunhai Puerh Ball; green tea is a little bitter to me; and I dig the floral accent in Earl Grey. I haven’t really tested the flowering teas yet but the rooibos that Rebecca sent looks and smells incredible. Like, potpourri incredible. My taste buds are still learning.

(PS, many thanks to Sonny for the skinny tea pot NO:S88 he brought me from Great Wall in Duluth.)

I’m back … back again

Third time's the charm

Simple design, but this was exciting to see in the mailbox!

I’m a 19th-year senior, but I didn’t realize how close I am to graduating college. Turns out that one of the best benefits of working for the university is free tuition! I even get to attend class during work hours. I was certainly attracted to the possibility of returning to school, but the encouragement from my co-workers and advisers made it a no-brainer. I might graduate before my kids!

2010 was an unusual year for me
